The Iqon CL 15 Black Edition is a freeride inline skate with four 90 mm wheels, slightly rockered, and the option to switch to a 3x110 mm setup.
The frame is designed to support both a 4x90 mm and a 3x110 mm configuration. Out of the box, the skate comes assembled with four 90 mm wheels. (If you’d like to switch to the 3-wheel setup right away, you’ll need to purchase the 110 mm wheels separately — they’re not included.)
The 4x90 mm setup features a mild 1 mm rocker. (For comparison, slalom skates typically have a 2 mm rocker.) This offers increased maneuverability without sacrificing much stability.
Strengths:
- If you occasionally want to switch between setups (from 4x90 mm to 3x110 mm) without changing your frame or skate, this is a great option.
- The cuff is adjustable in height as well as forward and backward, giving you more control over fit and support.
- If you’re unsure about your shoe size, the Iqon CL 15 might be a smart choice — for example, EU size 44–46 covers three full adult sizes.
Weaknesses:
- Don’t expect the frame to match the performance of the Endless 90 frame, which also supports both a lightly rockered 4x90 mm setup and a flat 3x110 mm setup. The metal used in the Iqon frame is noticeably less rigid and strong. (That’s understandable — the Endless frame alone costs nearly as much as this full skate.)
- A second downside also concerns the frame: in the 4x90 mm setup, you end up riding significantly higher than necessary — especially when compared to the Endless 90 or to dedicated 4x90 mm frames like the FR 4D 273 mm and the NN Ninja 90.
